Monterey Bay Inn

Great location and friendly service. One thing I would say is that they need to air out their rooms when remodeling. We walked in to a carpenter painting the room we had and noticied at night that the inside not just the outside was painted because of the smell. A big bummer was the "complimentary breakfast" it is only yogurt, fruit and coffee or orange juice. You would at least expect eggs, bacon, pankcakes etc at that price range.

We went here on a Valentine’s weekend and it was a great spot. It was perfect because they gave us an ocean view with a mini balcony. I had also reserved a nice restaurant way at the end of the road towards the aquarium. We could’ve walked but it was alittle chilly. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Although, there was parking underneath the hotel, it’s a little bit narrow and a full size SUV would have a hard time parking there.

The hallways aren't the nicest but the rooms are beautiful so dont judge the outside. The location is amazing and walking distance to aquarium, wharf and more. Theres a beach right next door and the rooftop hot tub is amazing. Love it here! Michelle was so helpful and incredibly nice! Can't wait to come back!

We spent a couple of days over New Year's Eve at the Monterey Bay Inn. I booked a harbor (ocean view) according to my confirmation email. Our room was a park/street view with the harbor visible if one leaned over the railing. So, we went back to the front desk. The staff could not have been nicer and moved our room to a harbor view. We were very happy with the views, the bed and the room. The hotel offers a "Pillow Menu" which was new to me- nice touch! We didn't need to change our pillows as those on the bed were lovely. The room top hot tub was lovely: clean, great views, and the perfect temperature. The included breakfast was healthy and tasty, It was so nice to have it delivered and then the tray taken away. I felt so relaxed and definitely like I was on an actual vacation. HEAVEN! Monterey is one of our happy places. We go there at least once a year. There is so much natural beauty and the community has done an outstanding job protecting their natural resources & providing access to public beaches and walking trails.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The rooms are clean and spacious. The rooms with baloneys and views of the bay and ocean are wonderful. The tasty breakfast that is delivered to your room each morning is a great way to start your day. I like that you can walk to the shops, restaurants and wharf. It is also a quick drive to Carmel. All the staff is nice and friendly. We like the free cookies at check in and free bottled water. The hotel offers different discounted packages which you can choose from, and different packages are offered at different times of the year. We took the 15% off one time and the whale watching package another time.

Incredible views, great staff, quiet atmosphere. What more could you ask for! Every morning i woke up early for my meetings just so I could sit on the balcony and watch the seals.

Location is excellent. Walking distance to the USCG pier where I always find sea otters to photograph (all the photos of the otters and the video were taken on the pier, about a 5 minute walk from the hotel). Walking distance to restaurants and even a 7-11 up the street for late night munchies. The view from the balcony with the sounds of the Pacific were enough reason to leave the sliding door open with the screen closed the entire time. My only complaint was the thin ceiling. My last night there someone was walking with heavy feet for like an hour. I called the desk to complain and the noise stopped within 10 minutes and I was able to sleep. Maybe I'll ask for a room on the top floor next time. All the of the staff was friendly. They were extremely polite and eager to help. Offered me water anytime I was in the lobby!

My son and I stayed here last week. Property was very clean and we have no complaints. The rooms were very nice and the views were unbeatable. I would absolutely stay here again! We were able to see otters out in the water and even saw a sea lion swimming by playing during sunrise. The staff was incredibly polite during check in. It’s such a great location and walkable to many things.
